Ingredients
800 gram turkey breast, thinly sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
60 gram onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
300 gram mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp mustard
1/2 tbsp curry powder
1/2 cup (240 ml) chicken broth
3/4 cup white wine
3/4 cup half and half
1 tablespoon flour, arrowroot for thickening
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Prepare the Meat:
Season the turkey slices with salt and pepper. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the turkey slices and cook until lightly browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Aromatics:
In the same skillet, add the butter. Sauté the onions and garlic until translucent, add the mustard, than add the mushrooms.
Create the Sauce:
Sprinkle the flour (I use Arrowroot for thickening) over the onions and garlic, stirring well to coat. Gradually add the chicken broth and white wine, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Add the heavy cream and lemon juice, and mix well.
Combine and Cook:
Return the turkey slices to the skillet, simmer gently for about 5-7 minutes, or until the turkey is cooked through and the sauce is well-blended.
Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot, traditionally with Rösti (Swiss potato pancakes) or rice or Spätzle
